Super Awesome Fun Park Project 2011

BEFORE YOU START
***************************

• BEFORE opening Paint, do the following research online. Write your findings down on a piece of paper. Title the paper Super Awesome Fun Park Research.
• Check out the 10 most popular amusement parks in the U.S. to get some ideas.
• As a class, discuss different types of power that can run an amusement park. Choose at least one that your parkwill use. What will power your park? Water? Solar? Electrical? Nuclear? See if you can find a picture of what it looks like online.
• Make a list of at least 15 different types of food and snacks that your park will have.  Make at least FIVE healthy options.
• What rides will your park have?  Make a list of 10-15 different awesome rides from different parks.  Which ones are your favorites?  Create a few of your own or use ones that already exist.
• Each park has to have laws or rules. Your park will have 5. As a class, brainstorm.  You don’t have to have the same rules, but this will give you a start for your ideas.
• What sections will your park have?  Think about how Disneyland is divided into separate areas:  Fantasy Land, Tomorrow Land, California Adventure, etc.
• What will you name your park?  It’s YOUR park, so give it an original name.  You can’t use the name of an existing park.

REQUIREMENTS

• Set your park size to be 800 x 800 pixels.
• File > Save As > My Computer > H: Drive
• NAME your file period#-lastname-superpark
• Your park could be 2D or 3D.
• Name your park. Your park name will go at the top of the document.
• Your park must have 5 main rules. These will be placed in the bottom right hand corner of your map.
• Your map must include at least 5 places people can eat.
• Have a minimum of 10 rides.
• Have a minimum of 5 other entertainment areas (movies, live shows, etc.)
• Include a power building of some sort.
• Include a ticket booth/entrance area.
